The World Is Regressing And It’s Scary

This most definitely is a rant.

The past few days looking at social media has been triggering. Ofcourse people get it more when it’s so close to home, we feel more empathy because it could’ve been us. But it’s not just this one instance though. Look at the last few years.

In the past few years there have been many instances that just made me think, this can’t be real. This feels like a TV drama. Politicians ofcourse bring the main character energy while sidelining us from our own lives. Much like main characters, they only care about themselves. And this is true, across the world. No politician ever works for the people. They only work for their gains. Make no mistake of trusting them.

In the past few years we’ve been through a pandemic, 2 wars and another one brewing.

As someone who takes immense joy when people come together, this entire scenario is hard to witness. You know what my favourite kind of content on social media is? Content about people coming together despite their differences. The feeling of community inspite all the differences we may have. People standing together and doing something for each other as human beings.

Everything these days make me want to whine.  Whine about why people and countries just can’t get along. If we break it down to individuals, we know how uncomfortable it is when we don’t get along with someone else. It’s even worse when you fight… but can you imagine if all of us individually start physically attacking each other? What sort of a world would that be? And it is so close to turning into that. A barbaric world.

How is this any different from when men used to fight for food back in the stone ages? How is this any different? Countries that have more similarities than those across the world just waiting for a reason to take up guns. In what language or words should it be said? That this is not okay. World leaders who are apparently chosen by the people are acting like kindergarteners. Pushing blame, pointing fingers and just waiting for blood shed. What kind of leaders are this? Who don’t have a care in the world for it’s own people?

And what sort of shitty person are you if you can’t even find compassion for people shot dead to no fault of their own? For just living their life, existing. Wars should be fought on battle fields, not on civilians let alone tourists. And calling terrorists freedom fighters? I have no words.

But ofcourse as usual, the rest of the world watches the drama unfold. Not batting an eyelid, probably with popcorn in their hands. Waiting for an impending war to turn into a business opportunity to turn. At the end of the day that’s what it is. All world leaders ever do is look for business opportunities. It doesn’t matter to them how many people get killed or fight each other in the name of religion. I recently saw a reel that made me laugh, a teenager gentle parenting world leaders. Saying all of them need to be given time outs like kindergarteners who fight against each other and can’t find a resolution.

What will take for the world to come together?
